To save time in classes we ask each student to bring your basic tool kit to class.  Your basic tool kit would include tools you use in your daily crafting such as exacto knife & extra blades, cutting mat, scissors, bone folder, adhesive, pen, pencil, C-thru ruler, paper trimmer and so on.  Some classes may include additional  tools that would be necessary based on the technique you will be doing in class.

 We are delighted to welcome Artist / Author Seth Apter of The Altered Page. Join us for this amazing art experience. In this workshop, you will learn a variety of techniques from the worlds of mixed media, painting, book making, photography, and collage. We will start with creating highly layered and textured backgrounds using acrylics, gesso and paper. These in turn will become the pages of a one-of-a-kind accordion book, to which you will add your own handmade covers. Next comes your own photography, to be added as the focal image of each page. And finally, you will add your own personal touches throughout the book using your choice of collage and mixed media materials. You will leave with your unique photo journals (yep, two) and a host of techniques that you can apply over and over to any number of future projects. (Click HERE for a Workshop Sample Sneak Peak)

 You will want to bring the following items in your class tool kit. We will have supplies for sale at the store as well:

Your own photographs of any subject matter, printed from your computer onto plain copy paper or glossy photo paper. The photos can be various sizes, but no larger than 4  x 2.5. Bring two different sets of at least 14 pics for a total of 28.

Golden Acrylic Glazing Liquid
paint brushes (assorted sizes), water container, paint palette
favorite adhesive for collage

Kids Summer Art Week 2013!

Monday July 29th through Friday August 2nd  is our annual Kids Craft Summer Camp. The week will consist of a large variety of paper and fabric crafting.  We will explain and create projects in a variety of categories such as...

 Mixed Media, Card Making, Creating with Die Cuts, Mix a Part Art and so much more!

Send a lunch with your artist as we will eat lunch outside on our picnic tables in nice weather or in our private class room as needed. If you need to deliver your artist before 10am we are happy to make arrangements with you.
